The result came from the largest study to date in Germany reported on Apr 1, 2010. (Not an April fool's work)
The largest observational study has found that those who ate the most chocolate--around 7.5 g per day--had a 39% lower risk of MI (Myocardial Infarction) and stroke than individuals who ate almost no chocolate (1.7 g per day). It is the cocoa content in chocolate that is important with its pronounced effect on BP, thus dark chocolate with the higher cocoa content is better.
This seems to be a breaking great news for the chocolate lovers and producers, BUT, "it's a little too early to come up with recommendations, because chocolate contains so many calories and sugar, and obesity is already an epidemic." said Dr Brian Buijsse, the lead author.
Conclusion: Small amount of chocolate is beneficial, yet, don't let your girlfriend eat too much if you don't want her to have an 'O' body shape instead of the sexy 'S'.
