Ranked as the world's 5th strongest earthquake since 1900, the 8.8-magnitude disaster hit Chile central coast with multiple magnitude 6 and higher aftershocks. It's sad to hear it after the Haiti tragedy, but I know and we know God always give us hope.
Out of these two disasters, it is solaceful to find that the 500 times stronger 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Chile killed fewer than 1,000 lives while the 7.0-magnitude Haiti quake killed more than 200,000.

The anti-earthquake building codes are believed to be the major life-saving factor. Doubtlessly, building strong buildings is saving lives. Somemore this reminds me of the heart-broken Sichuan earthquake...
